Labinal achieves ISO 14001 certification for all its Business Units in France

Following the audit conducted by the BVQi in late 2007, Labinal has obtained ISO 14001 certification at all its French Business Units.

This certification illustrates Labinal Europe Wiring Division's ongoing commitment to ‘Environmental Citizenship'. This initiative covers both the company's capacity to control its impact on the environment, and the eco-responsible organization of its activities.

Specifically, the ISO 14001 environmental certificate has been awarded to Labinal Villemur, Labinal Vichy, and Labinal Ajaccio – all part of the Europe Wiring Division – as well as to Labinal Canalab, a Labinal Services Division Business Unit.

Initiated in 2005, the successful certification process is a major step forward in a global project based on continuous improvement, employees' involvement, and the sharing of best practices.

During its audit, the BVQi particularly noted the organization's effective implementation at all levels, the strong environmental awareness of the employees, the management's commitment, and the continuous improvement process through the diversity of the procedures in place (5S, IGP). It also confirms the consistency between the company action plans and the environmental analysis of its activities.

ISO 14001 standards will be extended to Labinal Business Units in Morocco in 2008 and 2009.

One of the SAFRAN Group's high tech companies, Labinal is a world leader in the field of electrical wiring systems – and studies in their engineering and associated technology – for the aviation, space and defense markets.
