Safran Electrical & Power wins Two Airbus Awards: 2016 Gold Award for Best Performer and Best Improver
The Gold Award for "Best Performer" recognizes exceptional work on Airbus serial programs. The "Best Improver" Award was won by Aerolec—the 40/60 joint venture between Safran Electrical & Power and Thalès—and honored a continued effort to improve that led to an unparalleled upturn in quality and on-time delivery.
These awards celebrate the performance of Safran Electrical & Power and especially the Pitstone site in Great Britain, which supplies the electrical power systems for the Airbus A320, A330, A340 and A380 programs through the Aerolec joint venture.
"We are honored to receive these awards. In 2016, we delivered more than 2,000 pieces of equipment on time and surpassed Airbus's expectations. This performance is the result of the improvement plans we started in 2014. Besides implementing every Safran standard for the past two years, in terms of quality, continuous improvement, and the use of "Quick Response Quality Control"*, we have truly changed our state of mind. But above all, this recognition is the result of our work with Airbus in order to improve our performance," said Philippe Martin, Manager of the Pitstone site.
"It's rewarding and represents the shared efforts made by all the actors across our plants and activities to enable Pitstone site to revive customer satisfaction and operational performance and ensure we keep our commitments," adds Hervé Blanc, vice president & general manager of Power division.
*Quick Response Quality Control is a method used to detect and resolve problems on-site.
